Reverse
This is the first in a series of medals in which I’ve taken elements from each reverse, doubled them in some fashion, and transformed them while introducing new elements for each successive medal. Kind of a cat’s cradle exercise, each has a completely different shape, which then transforms over the edge to create a frontal aspect in addition to obverse and reverse. Technically challenging, the sculpted edge is integral to the transition from one side to the other.
